The Idea
One evening some WIKING-collectors met to talk and discuss about new models, the traditional company, commercial and special editions as well as their collections with
one or two beers.
"Special collections for the foreign countries are very hard to get" says one of the collectors when the next opens a bag and presents a nice and detailed commercial model,
which of course is then handed over to all members of the "round table" - always observed by the owner of the model since everybody at the table would have loved to add this
model to his collection. Somtime later the following idea comes up: "We should know somebody, who is willing and has the possibilities to deliver these rare special editions –
that would be great!".
The Start
I heard that! in the following night the first step to this business takes place with one lonely decision: This business needs to be started since nobody seems to do this yet.
I started to search the internet and ... yes, it is true - this idea is new. A following research opens up several retailers and interested friends and collectors.
In addition technical possibilities were discussed with a friend and webmaster. Finally the shop started in spring-time 2006 online – with the phantasy-name: WIKIMP,
sorted out by taking the first part of WIKing and the first part of the word IMPort to show and represent one of the main services: to import the foreign editions
for german collectors.

Since then the business kept growing even though it was intended to be a part-time-job and we are happy to have a lot of clients from all over the world.
Regularly we list new models and keep searching for new editions and models. And we will try to be as fast as possible in presenting you new commercial and special editions.
While searching I can rely on some helping hands - these hands are owned by the guys who were sitting at the "round table" when the idea came up - all of them
collectors and infected by the WIKING-virus.
WIKIMP is not an official dealer of WIKING-models. We are only dealing with special editions and imported models and deliver theses again worldwide.
By the way: WIKIMP is officially registered as business in Germany and of course pays taxes...
